It was a night of High School Basketball. I have decided basketball is like doing shuttle runs up and down the court while dribbling a ball. It is non-stop. I enjoyed shooting my first basketball game. It was fun. You can't blink or you might miss something!

Deputy Anderson
Today was a sad day for those who remain but a day of Homegoing for a fellow deputy. The world of law enforcement is different than any other profession. The people you work with become more than just your co-workers, they become your family. The deputies and their families have a bond that is often times difficult to explain. So, when the deputies of St. Johns County lost one of their co-workers, they lost their "brother."
Deputy James Anderson was killed in a car crash on January 14, 2010. He leaves behind his wife, and four children. His life was marked by a life of service to his family, his church and his country. Not only was he a deputy he was a Marine. He was passionate about his relationship with Jesus Christ and shared his faith with those who would listen. He was a loving husband and father. And, he was a brother to his fellow deputies. During his funeral service the pastor stated that this service is not a funeral but a homegoing service. It was a day to celebrate the life James lived and a celebration that he now lives with his Savior. I can't help to think that in his death others might see the life James lived and be challenged to live for the Lord.
